IPT - Visitors Training Program

Visitors Training Program
Visiting professionals may apply to attend a two day intensive IPT training program. In this program professionals frequently have the additional opportunity to meet and collaborate with researchers and clinicians of varying backgrounds and unique interests. This program allows attendees to participate in training sessions, view videotapes of patient sessions and attend advanced seminars in applied interpersonal psychotherapy. Successful completion of the Visitor's or Onsite Training Program and the associated IPT Supervision Components are required for accreditation as a Certified Interpersonal Psychotherapist . The Visitors' Training Program typically follows the following format:
Day 1 Breakfast Overview, Short-Term Therapy Overview, IPT Nature of Depression Lunch The Interpersonal Approach (Goals and Tasks of IPT) IPT, the First Session (case example) Diagnosing Depression In an Interpersonal Context IPT Focus, Grief Case Example (Role-play or Videotape) IPT Focus, Role Disputes Role Disputes Case Example (Role-play or Videotape)	Day 2 Breakfast IPT Focus, Role transitions Case Example (Role-play or Videotape) IPT Focus, Interpersonal Deficits Case Example (Role-play or Videotape) Lunch Termination Issues Case Example (Role-play or Videotape) Adaptations of Model Case Examples Review and Discussion
Future Dates for the Visitor's Training Program include: Monday April 12th. and Tuesday April 13th., 2010 Toronto, Ontario, Canada Monday April 26th. and Tuesday April 27th., 2010 Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. Friday May 28th. and Saturday May 29th., 2010, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. Friday June 11th. and Saturday June 12th., 2010, Miami, Florida, U.S.A. Friday July 9th. and Saturday July 10th., 2010, Hong Kong Friday August 6th. and Saturday August 7th., 2010, Milan, Italy Friday August 20th. and Saturday 21st.,2010, Stuttgart, Germany Tuition Tuition for the Visitor's Training Program is $495.00 for 2 days. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation, accommodations and related expenses. A $200 deposit, payable by check, or money order, is required at least four weeks before a scheduled visit, made payable to the Institute for Interpersonal Psychotherapy. The balance of the tuition is due on the first day at registration.
